Compound Bows

Compound bows are modern bows, made up of cables and pulleys that allows the bows to bend. They are different from recurve bows in that they are much stiffer. While such stiff limbs make compound bows more energy efficient, the stiffness makes it much more difficult to draw the bow. That's why compound bows have the cable and pulley system, so that drawing becomes much more comfortable and a lot easier to do. There is no point in having a bow if it's too difficult or painful to use. Additionally, compound bows are more energy efficient because energy is stored when the cables are pulled by the pulleys. The energy is stored in the bow's limbs, but nothing is stored in the cables or pulleys. This system gives the compound bows their draw force curving.

Compound bows are very adaptable in many different outdoor situations. They aren't affected by the weather like other bows are. They are made of aluminum, magnesium, and composite materials. Because other bows are made of natural materials, they are much more affected by weather conditions, especially heat and humidity, than the compound bows.

Compound bows give great accuracy to its user, enabling the arrow to travel at greater distances with its velocity. Compound bows have superior "let off," which lets a bowhunter fully draw his or her arrow and having more time to aim than other bows. Because of this extra time to aim, compound bows let bowhunters be more accurate. Compound bows are also aided by stabilizers and dampeners, which makes them even more accurate. It's almost like stabilizers and dampeners are made for compound bows because they work better with them than with other bows. As you can see from all these advantages, compound bows are very popular among bow hunters.

You would think with this much difference between bows, that the arrows compound bows use would be different from other bows. Not so. Wooden arrows should be avoided, however, when using compound bows because of the huge amount of force that they place on their arrows. Wooden arrows are likely to break from the force of being shot out of compound bows. Broken arrows are certainly a waste of money, but they can also result in injury to the bow hunter or the bow itself. For compound bows, it's best to use arrows made of aluminum alloy, carbon fiber, or a combination of these two materials. These materials are far more resilient and a lot stronger than the wooden arrows. Compound bows are formidable bows, and they need tough arrows to stand up to their quality.
